It’s Alec here.
This is my first blog post ever and I have a lot to talk about. The summer baseball season is coming to an end and it’s been a great run so far with the PT spiders. Last weekend we traveled to Columbus Indiana looking for our 5th tournament win, and we got it. Out if the 11 tourneys we have played in so far 9 of them we have been in the championship and we have won 5 of them. It’s been a great start for the PT organization.
Back to this weekend I have a lot to get through.
Recently I have been struggling with my defense at third base, mainly throwing to first. I realize now that I have gotten inside my own head. During warm up and practice I make the throws perfectly like I should do but come game time something just comes in my head right before I throw the ball and it’s been really bringing down my confidence. This weekend alone I have made close to 6 errors, the most I have ever made in one weekend and my goal is to limit it to 1 maybe 2 a weekend. I just need to find something to block my thinking when I am in the field because I know I am a great defensive player and it will come around.
Next is batting. This weekend my bat was on fire I was hitting the ball everywhere I needed to and driving in runs when it counted most. I was happy with my line drives but something still doesn’t feel right. I want to be the hitter that everyone knows I am. I showed that this weekend but I feel the power wasn’t there. I didn’t hit any home runs and it’s getting kind of old because I know I can hit the long ball it’s just a matter of time I guess. I am going to keep working at picking my pitch and that pitch is the one I know I can take it out of the yard.
